How much do the Red Hot Chili Peppers like California?

I noticed that a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers songs had California references. Not totally sure if it was just me or they really had a thing for their home state I decided to check it out.

I’m counting things that obviously relate to California, so I decided to go with this set of words:

California
Californication
L.A.
Hollywood
Lakers

I went about it by getting all the lyrics and just get some running counts of occurrences divided by total number of words. There’s some stuff missing like repeating choruses and some such, but I wasn’t going for anything fancy. I did find out that 11.2% of their original songs had references to California!
